An offer's hourly amount uses only the minutes to pickup and for the trip. Your day also includes waiting between offers, time online without a trip and driving without a passenger. That time counts toward what you receive per hour of work.
Two calculations with different times
To read an offer, divide the amount by total minutes and multiply by 60. Always include the drive to the passenger.
For the day, divide what you received by total working hours. Count each minute once: pickup is already part of the offer; driving between offers goes into the remaining time. Waiting online is also part of that time.
An example morning
Imagine a 4-hour morning with five completed offers. In this example, you received the amounts shown in the offers. All amounts and times are fictional, not an earnings forecast.
| Offer | Amount | To the pickup | Trip | Total time | Per hour in the calculator |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | US$12.00 | 4 min | 16 min | 20 min | US$36.00/h |
| 2 | US$14.40 | 5 min | 20 min | 25 min | US$34.56/h |
| 3 | US$10.80 | 3 min | 15 min | 18 min | US$36.00/h |
| 4 | US$16.80 | 7 min | 20 min | 27 min | US$37.33/h |
| 5 | US$18.00 | 6 min | 24 min | 30 min | US$36.00/h |
Example figures. Hourly amounts haven't had car costs subtracted yet.
Each hourly amount uses the offer amount divided by its total time, times 60. For offer 4, for example, 16.80 ÷ 27 × 60 ≈ US$37.33/h. Money shown is rounded to six decimal places, then to two, starting from the unrounded value.
Earnings add up to 12.00 + 14.40 + 10.80 + 16.80 + 18.00 = US$72.00. The offers take 20 + 25 + 18 + 27 + 30 = 120 minutes. Add 90 minutes waiting online without a trip and 30 minutes driving without a passenger between offers: 120 + 90 + 30 = 240 minutes, or 4 hours of work.
The hourly amount for this morning is 72.00 ÷ 4 = US$18.00/h, before car costs. The offers' hourly amounts use only the minutes of each offer; US$18.00/h includes all the morning's working time.
The weekly calculation, step by step
- Weekly earnings: add up what you received on the days you're counting, before car costs.
- Total hours: add up the working hours for those same days, including pickups, trips, waiting and driving between offers. Exclude breaks when you weren't working.
- Hourly amount: divide weekly earnings by total hours. Don't take the simple average of the offers' hourly amounts.
- After costs: to find what is left, subtract car costs from earnings for the same period and divide by the same hours.
Use your own numbers
In Radr's earnings calculator, compare each offer using its pickup and trip minutes.
In Weekly goal, fill in “Hours per day” with total working hours, including waiting. If your workdays have different lengths, divide total weekly hours by the number of workdays. Weekly goal calculates how much you need to earn to reach your goal with the costs you included; it doesn't forecast what you'll receive.
