What is left from what the app pays you

Subtract car costs from what you receive to see your weekly and monthly result.

Reviewed Oct 31, 2026

What the app pays you still has to cover your car costs. To find what is left, add up what you receive and subtract what you spend over the same workdays and miles.

What goes into the calculation

Here, earnings means the total the app pays you. Start with that amount and subtract each car cost once. The result is what is left after the costs you included.

Fuel is included through fuel economy and price. Maintenance, insurance and other costs use the amount for the period. Even if you pay insurance on another day, set aside the share for the week you're counting.

The calculation, step by step

  1. Earnings: add up what the app pays you during the week.
  2. Car cost: add energy and the weekly share of fixed costs.
  3. Weekly result: subtract car cost from earnings.
  4. Monthly result: multiply the weekly result by 52 and divide by 12, keeping the same work pattern.

This monthly figure is an average. It doesn't mean every month has the same workdays or that you'll receive that amount.

An example

Imagine the app pays you US$750.00 in a week. This is a fictional amount for the calculation, not an earnings forecast. You work five days, driving 125 miles a day, including the drive to each pickup. You own the car and have no loan payments.

Use 30 mpg, fuel at US$3.40 per gallon and monthly costs of US$60 for maintenance, US$150 for insurance and US$40 for other costs. All remaining cost fields are zero in this example.

You drive 5 × 125 = 625 miles a week. Energy costs 3.40 ÷ 30 ≈ US$0.113333 per mile, or US$70.83 for the week. Fixed costs add up to 60 + 150 + 40 = US$250.00 a month; the weekly share is 250 × 12 ÷ 52 ≈ US$57.69.

Example figures. The month uses the week times 52 divided by 12.

Cost per mile, calculated before rounding weekly costs, is about US$0.205641. The calculator shows US$0.21/mi, with US$0.11 for energy and US$0.10 for fixed costs. The fixed part shown is the displayed total minus energy. Weekly and monthly figures use unrounded values. Money is rounded to six decimal places, then to two; adding rounded parts can differ from the total by US$0.01.

What goals mean

Your per mile goal is what you want to receive for each mile of the offer, including pickup and trip. Your hourly goal is what you want to receive per hour of the total time for both parts.

In Radr's earnings calculator, these goals compare the offer amount before car costs. They aren't what is left. Include your cost per mile to see that difference. Choose goals using your own numbers; this calculation doesn't guarantee earnings.

Use your own numbers

Open Full cost per mile to find your cost per mile. Then choose “I know the cost” in the earnings calculator and copy the number. Don't add it to energy again under “Other costs”.

Use all your work miles for the week. If mileage, fuel economy or costs change, redo the calculation before comparing the result.
